The Beauty Of The Lord Our God

Psalms 90:14-17: O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. 15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. 16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. 17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Notice that there are two things Moses asked the Lord to put upon us. The beauty of the Lord our God and the work of our hands. If we are to perceive and enjoy the beauty of the Lord our God upon us we must permit Him to establish the work of our hands. How can we see the beauty of the Lord our God? Except for His creation, none of us can see His beauty with our physical eyes. Only those who have been born again can perceive it and they can only perceive it with the eyes of their hearts.

John 3:3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:8: The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

We cannot see the cause but we can see the effect of God*s beauty. Both are beautiful. When I am privileged to hear an individual pray to receive Christ and then I see joy and peace come upon their countenance, I am perceiving the result of the beauty of the Lord my God. When I hear them speak glowing words about what God has done to them and for them I am perceiving the result of the beauty of the Lord my God. When I see the changes that God has made in their lives I am perceiving the result of the beauty of the Lord my God.

If you have shared the gospel with others who have received Jesus, it ought to put in you a desire to see the result of the beauty of the Lord again and again and again. It ought to put in you a desire to share the gospel again and again and again.

And even when you associate with Christians who you did not share the gospel with, you ought to be able to perceive the result of the beauty of the Lord in them and what they do. That ought to give you a desire to associate with them more and more and more.

When you permit the Lord to change YOU and YOUR life, you will be able to see results of the beauty of the Lord in yourself and in your life. That ought to give you a desire to yield yourself to Him more and more and more.

1 John 3:2: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1 John 4:17: Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

When individuals hear the gospel and reject Jesus, I perceive the results of the ugliness of Satan. The individuals actually seem to become ugly before my very eyes. That gives me a strong desire to present the gospel as perfectly as I can. If you get started doing what the Lord wants you to do, you will perceive the results of the beauty of the Lord and you will never want to stop perceiving it.
